May 27th, 2023 (Saturday) in front of the Museum of Kyoto, Kyoto, June 3rd On Saturday, SUKOBURU opened its first pop-up store in Shibuya, Tokyo.
The store that opened this time was a pop-up store called kawaii mela , which was planned in collaboration with ASLI , a company that deals in Indian accessories and other items, and which brings together all things cute from India.
Kawaii Mela was launched in 2023 with the desire to spread and let people know about cute Indian apparel and traditional crafts in Japan.
This time, SUKOBURU sold clothes, miscellaneous goods and fabrics selected in Jaipur, India, the birthplace of block printing.
Kawaii Mela Kyoto Edition May 27th (Sat)

The first ever kawaii mela will be an outdoor market-style stall!
We had a stall at Bunpaku Art Marche, which is held every month in front of the Kyoto Museum of Art.
Despite the scorching heat and strong sunlight, many people from the Kansai region (some even came from Nagoya!) came to the event.
There were times along the way when the line continued for several hours.
Although we had almost no time to talk at length with the customers, both the organizers and I were very happy that so many people came to the first event.
kawaii mela Tokyo edition June 3 (soil)

The Tokyo edition was held at a space in Shibuya.
It had been raining so hard the day before that public transportation had been suspended, but the rain had subsided by the morning of the event, and we were able to welcome a huge number of people to the event.
Since it was the first time, we were unable to predict the number of attendees, and the space was not particularly large, so people had to wait to enter for several hours, but we would like to thank everyone who waited and came to the event 🙏
We plan to expand the scale of the next kawaii mela event so that customers can take their time to look at and handle the cute things from India. We look forward to seeing you there.
